Lewisville Town Council Holds ETJ Public Forum

The Lewisville Town Council sponsored a public forum on ETJ on Tuesday April 15 at the Lewisville Public Library on Shallowford Road in Lewisville. The purpose of the meeting was to disseminate information regarding the Town Council's recent decision to request ETJ from the Forsyth county commissioners, including why ETJ is important to citizens, what North Carolina law says about ETJ, what concerned citizens can do to support the request, and to answer questions from the public. The forum was well attended, with approximately 80-90 citizens attending. A summary document about ETJ was distributed and can be downloaded here.

Lewisville Prepares for ETJ Request

The Lewisville town council, during their retreat in February, 2007, has decided to offically request ETJ rights from the Forsyth county commissioners. The town manager has been instructed to prepare a letter formally requesting this action. Concerned citizens or Lewisville are urged to attend the town council meetings and participate in the discussions related to this important event in the life of Lewisville, NC. The Forsyth county commissioners have historically been opposed to granting ETJ to communities like Lewisville. We also encourage you to contact the county commissioners directly and voice your opinion on this matter.

Lewisville 2007 Christmas Parade Float

Citizens concerned about the ETJ issue in Lewisville, NC recently put together a float in the Lewisville Christmas parade on December 9, 2007. These citizens handed out fliers with information regarding ETJ and announced this website address.
